April Good Neighbor Award


Dick and Shirley Ide of Shannon City were recognized April 21 as the April Iowa Good Farm Neighbor Award recipients. The Ides, who manage a diversified crop and livestock farm in Union County, recently hosted more than 40 family members, friends and reporters on their farm for a recognition ceremony. They were both humbled and suprised at the recognition. “I was so surprised to be nominated,” said Dick. “This is a great neighborhood and always has been.” The Iowa Good Farm Neighbor Award is presented 10 times yearly to livestock farmer by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Iowa Ag Radio Network. The award is sponsored by the Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers. Full Story
