Livestock activists in north central Iowa erected this billboard Oct. 14, 2006 protesting efforts by a 28-year-old Ventura farmer to construct a new 2,400-head swine finishing farm in Cerro Gordo County. The billboard, erected by Julie Vavrik and Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement member Gayle Stokes, was positioned adjacent to Muff's new farm. Both activists defended its contents, accusing farmers of poisoning air and water quality and threatening the health of consumers.
