Aaron Putze serves as Executive Director of the Coalition to Support Iowa's Farmers.
The Coalition was launched in 2004 and assists farm families in growing their livestock farms responsibly and successfully. It’s non-partisan, not-for-profit initiative involving seven Iowa farm and commodity organizations.
Putze directs the Coalition’s farmer services initiatives, helping families who raise livestock, hogs and poultry follow all rules and regulations, choose good locations for new farms, strengthen neighbor relations and safeguard air and water quality. He’s also an ambassador for agriculture, speaking to a variety of audiences and networking with members of the news media to enhance awareness, trust and pride in the integrity of Iowa’s farms and rural communities.
Prior to his current role, Putze served 10 years on the Iowa Farm Bureau marketing and communications team, including eight years as Public Relations Director.
He grew up on a grain and livestock farm near West Bend and holds degrees in communications, public relations and journalism from the University of Northern Iowa. While at UNI, he served as student government vice president and executive editor of the school’s award-winning and twice-weekly newspaper, The Northern Iowan.
Putze received his accreditation in public relations in 2001. He’s a member of the Animal Ag Alliance board of directors and a 2009 Honorary Iowa Master Pork Producer. Aaron is a member of the Waukee Rotary and two-time past president of the West Side Kiwanis Club of West Des Moines-Waukee. Hobbies include reading, photography, travel, writing and golfing (horribly, he might add!).
Aaron, his wife Crystal and children Garrett, Grant and Jaelyn live in West Des Moines.
